Yulia Buyanova

Software Engineer, Market Intelligence Technology

Point72

My decision to study Computer Science at Mathematics and Information Science department of Warsaw University of Technology was mostly driven by my interest in math, but with time I found how engaging programming can be as well. After graduating I started my career in a small international consulting company Freeport Metrics as an intern and spent 3 years there learning different aspects of IT industry. My main responsibility was software development, but I also gained a lot of experience in business analysis and product management as well as working directly with clients. I’ve helped deliver projects in a variety of technologies, but the majority of my contributions were in .NET/Angular stack. Currently I’m working in Point72 as a Software Engineer in a team that’s developing and maintaining internal research application and I’m mostly using Angular and Node.js. While I’m more focused on front-end development at the moment, I’m interested in working on full-stack solutions as well.

In my free time I enjoy traveling(when pandemic permits of course), spending time with my friends and playing video games. I’m always looking to try something new though, so I recently signed up for a dance class.
