Witek Wąchała

Senior Engineering Manager

I am a graduate of the EAIiIB faculty at AGH, I have 24 years of experience as an engineer, project leader, team leader, Product Owner, and organization manager.
In my career, I have been lucky to have the opportunity to work in telecommunications projects (CDMA, LTE), radiocommunications projects (ASTRO P25), and currently I run an organization providing products in the Video industry (Avigilon).

The experience gained while working in Krakow with teams in India, Israel, Scotland, Portugal, Canada, the United States, as well as during relocation to Chicago allows me to effectively help my teams find their path to success.

Privately, I like to spend time skiing and, if not more, at sea sailing.
I strongly believe that mentoring is a way of giving back by sharing own experiences, helping others grow faster. Mentor is a guide, role model, teacher, advisor and ally.

So that’s why I am actively participating in various mentoring programs. One quite unusual is for managers joining my company, Motorola Solutions via acquisitions where I’m helping them to find themselve in new place, new reality.

Other more standard ones are for new managers in Krakow as well as in EMEA region or for woman in IT industry (ITfoSHE).

During my career I was leading development engineers, test engineers, devops engineers, managers working on embedded low level software, mobile applications, cloud applications, complex multi-product systems, development and test tools.

That variety multiplied by different nationalities and cultures enables me to find a way to help my teams as well as my mentees.
